Toastmasters Meetings begins with an Agenda

Speeches comprise less than 1/3 of a typical Toastmasters meeting.  There are other meeting roles designed to sharpen listening skills. Each speech is evaluated by an Evaluator.

Other meeting roles include:

Grammarian (points out good and improper use of language,
Timekeeper (monitors time spent on each agenda item)

AH counter & Word Provider (counts filler words such as AH, UH, SO, Well, You know).

Meeting Listener (delivers pop quiz on details of what people said throughout the meeting).

General Evaluator evaluates the actual meeting to provide feedback to the club on it's organizational skills.

Table Topics

Is practice for speaking "off the cuff". Participants speak for a minimum of 1 minute on a spontaneous topic.  Much like a supervisor asking for an update on a project. It's all in good fun and often the best laughs of the meeting occur during Table Topics.
